Meet your psychologist

Majella is an endorsed clinical psychologist with a passion for helping individual adult clients understand their difficult emotions, their challenging thoughts, and helping them develop new strategies to live life as they want to.

Having navigated through many of her own personal ups and downs in life, from health, career, family dynamics and even what trauma can throw at a person, Majella brings her welcome calmness and good humour in her approach to therapy. With a curiosity and compassion for the story in all of us, clients often comment on feeling “really seen and heard” and “talking about things that others haven’t asked about”.

Majella has her own interesting story that helped shape her self-identify and way of being with others. Before embarking on her career as a psychologist, Majella worked in many different career settings from hands on to executive roles. Majella and her husband have three adult sons, with deep connections to regional and rural Victoria.

Majella is a full member of The Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA)

Majella’s approach

Majella combines her expert knowledge in human behaviour and evidence based therapeutic interventions in a powerful combination that provides you with better insight and practical strategies to cope with life pressures and relationship distress, to finally shift core beliefs and patterns of behaviour that sabotage your happiness and limit your life.

Majella believes the three most important parts of therapy are:

1. The strong connection between you and your psychologist,

2. The hope that comes from increased self-compassion and self-awareness, and

3. Your committed actions as a client who feels validated and supported to create lasting change in your life.

Therapeutic interventions are drawn from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Somatic and PolyVagal Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion techniques, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Majella works with adults who may be experiencing:

  • Depression, Anxiety or Stress

  • Burnout and Perfectionism

  • Adjusting to life changes, including a relationship break-up

  • Grief and loss

  • Phobias

  • Social Anxiety

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Complex relational trauma, or trauma that has occurred within the context of a relationship, such as child sexual abuse, neglect, or family violence
